Palm with cross at top and sunrays at left within a solid circle.
Back side:
Face value within laurel and olive wreaths.
Comments:
The creation of the currency was decided by the Fourth National Assembly held in Argos. The palm tree on the obverse represents the rebirth of Greece, while the word “aoka” refers to the year 1821 (the year of the Greek revolution).
